Organic Crib Mattress Pad Tips

Benefits of an organic crib mattress pad?

  • Provides softness and comfort (but still firm)
  • Absorbs liquids
  • non-toxic and chemical free

You don’t want all those liquids from urine leaks to spit-ups to end up inside your quality organic crib mattress. That’s why a mattress pad will absorb those liquids no matter how big they get.

Certified organic cotton is a great natural fiber that most pads are made from. Quality organic pads are quilted and easy to clean. Add a splash of white vinegar to the wash. This will increase the softness and absorbance, and you won’t need any harsh chemical softeners.

Your crib mattress pad should be used over a moisture or puddle pad. Otherwise the liquids will just sit there like a puddle and your baby will be wet.

So the moisture pad prevents the leaks to seep into the mattress. While the mattress pad absorbs those leaks until it can be washed.

I bought two organic mattress pads for Samantha’s crib for those times when one is in the wash.
