What's the difference between safe cribs and unsafe cribs?

Here's a few factors that will help you decide whether your baby's crib is safe:

• all the parts should be tightly screwed into place
• there are no loose strings or parts inside the crib
• new cribs are safer than used cribs the majority of the time
• keep an eye out for manufacturer recalls - they seem to be happening quite a bit these days
• crib dimensions also depend on crib mattress size
• crib location is extremely important - i.e. away from windows
• regularly check for loose parts
